A member of the gourd family, pumpkins are large, round squashes with a thick, orange rind that has creases running from top to bottom. Its orange flesh has a mild, sweet flavor. The seeds are known as pepitas.
A southern ham that's been dry-cured with salt and seasoning, then smoked over hardwood, then aged for a period of time. It's usually sold uncooked since the meat is preserved by the curing process.
